Grandmother’s Lists
Why are Grandma's things in order? She knows how to use lists to manage them.
A Little Peace in the Weekday
Today's article is different from the usual weekday articles. On Tuesdays, posts related to organization are published in this blog, but on Fridays — they are more for the heart. Today’s post seems to cover organization, but is still for the heart.
Perhaps the first person in my life who explicitly used lists to organize order in her life was my grandmother. I can even say she has an entire system for organizing household chores and communication using lists. Today, we’ll take a little peek into that system.
And to make it not only useful but also beautiful, we’ll ask neural networks to illustrate the local beauties in watercolor for us.
Lists for Boxes and Bags
Why do we need bags and boxes? Of course, to put something useful in them. But how can you tell by looking at the box what should go inside? By default, you can’t, but everything changes when you write on it. You put it in and cross it off, great!
And what about a bag? You can't draw on it. But that’s okay, just tear a sheet from a notebook, put it in the bag, and write down what’s required. Add the required items to the bag and cross off what’s no longer needed.
Lists of Events and Lists of Questions
There was once an article on the blog titled “The Done List”. It could be useful when you’ve done something and then need to talk about it. But if it's not that you have a daily job to do, but life itself provides you things to think about, then it becomes a list of events. These events happened to some people, or there is something about the harvest. Keeping it written down is handy when you need to talk to someone.
And if there are several people to talk to, you can take several sheets of paper. Name each sheet so as not to confuse the news, and the system works.
Did you know that when talking to people, you sometimes want to ask them something? I was surprised, too. But it turns out that you can write these questions next to the existing list of events and ask them at the right moment.
Lists of Important Things
Besides the fact that things happen in life and some things are simply interesting, there are also important matters. For example, things related to health. Whether it's something said on an authoritative TV program or read in a book or magazine, the necessary information will be passed on to children and grandchildren using the same sheets with lists.
There they are, by the way, on the windowsill. It's bright there, and it's convenient to read them during a call.
